Deposit, NY - The Deposit Fire Department, Eastern Broome Emergency Services, and Broome County Office of Emergency Services participated in a specialized rescue drill at the Bluestone Wind Farm. Organized and hosted by Northland Power, the exercise simulated a rescue operation involving a worker trapped or injured within a wind turbine.

The drill provided participating agencies with an opportunity to review rescue procedures, update emergency response pre-plans, and strengthen coordination for incidents involving the facility’s 26 wind turbines.

The hands-on exercise reinforced the importance of interagency preparedness and continued safety coordination when responding to emergencies at complex renewable energy facilities.
