Farmersville Firefighters Trained on New Apparatus

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Farmersville Station, N.Y. — July 27 — Before a newly acquired fire apparatus was put into service, members of the Farmersville Fire Department received practical training. While using the truck's systems and controls, crews learned how to fill, pump, and handle the vehicle. As training proceeded, the equipment remained inoperable.

When the truck was put into service, those who attended the training sessions were supposed to be among the first qualified to drive it. To help all members feel comfortable with the equipment, more training was scheduled. The training facilitated a seamless transfer to the department's new equipment and assisted firemen in developing their operating skills.
