A coordinated response by fire, EMS, law enforcement and air-medical personnel was required after a bicyclist suffered a reported head injury following a fall on Pressler Road, in the Town of Newburgh, New York, on August 12th, 2026.

Town of Newburgh EMS responded to the medical emergency and requested assistance from the Cronomer Valley Fire Department to establish a landing zone for an incoming medevac helicopter. While EMS personnel provided patient care and prepared the injured bicyclist for transport, Cronomer Valley firefighters established and secured the landing zone for the arriving aircraft. Town of Newburgh EMS subsequently transported the patient from the original incident scene to the landing zone, where care was transferred to the air-medical crew.

After the patient was transferred to the helicopter, the medevac lifted from the landing zone for transport to a higher level of care.
