Dormont, PA. — July 28 — After obtaining a fresh supply that had been ordered for a number of years, the Dormont Fire Department started replacing the older fire hose on the 130 truck. As they installed the new lines and removed the old hose, firefighters worked around the ladder truck. Because hoses can deteriorate with age, frequent use, exposure to heat, and other factors, replacing them is a crucial component of equipment maintenance.

Water distribution may be impacted by a damaged hose that breaks during operations. The equipment was kept available for upcoming emergencies thanks to the department's hose replacement effort. Additionally, the exercise allowed firemen to inspect equipment condition and hose location during the switchover.
