Fisherman Rescued From Chadwick Lake

Fire, EMS and law-enforcement personnel responded to Chadwick Lake for a reported person in the water after a fisherman fell from a rowboat. Cronomer Valley and Orange Lake firefighters responded to the August 8, 2026 incident in the Town of Newburgh, NY, where Town of Newburgh Police and EMS were also on scene. Both fire departments launched boats and headed north on the lake to locate the subject. Crews located the fisherman and returned him safely to shore, while his rowboat was also recovered and towed back. The subject declined medical attention. Orange County Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-13 also operated at the scene, and all units returned to service following the rescue.
