Groton, CT. — August 2 — On the anniversary of Chief Jeffrey Post's death, Submarine Base Professional Firefighters IAFF Local F-219 paid tribute to him. After a career devoted to the fire service, Post passed away on August 2, 2023. He worked as a chief officer, instructor, fireman, EMT, HAZMAT, and rescue specialist. Emergency response, firefighter training, and departmental mentoring were among his responsibilities.

Additionally, Post participated in the 2012 USS Miami fire at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a member of a response crew. His leadership, service, and achievements to the department and community were acknowledged by local F-219 members. Those who served with him continued to remember his career and dedication.
