East Great Plain Crews Showcased Rescue Skills

Norwich, CT. — Aug. 5 — The East Great Plain Volunteer Fire Company, located at 488 New London Turnpike, joined locals and public safety partners for a community safety event as part of National Night Out. During a car extrication demonstration, firefighters demonstrated the tools and methods used to save people from auto accidents. In order to encourage fire safety and disaster readiness, crews also provided children with instructional materials and interactive fire safety exercises.


National Night Out promoted public safety awareness while reinforcing ties between first responders and the community. Firefighters had the chance to respond to inquiries and showcase the department's continuous public education initiatives at the event.
