Westerly, R.I. — July 21 — A Yamaha FX Cruiser HO personal watercraft was added to the emergency response fleet of the Dunn's Corners Fire Department, located at 1 Langworthy Rd. By offering quick access to swimmers in difficulty, search operations, and shallow-water locales, the new rescue unit improved the department's capacity to respond to water crises throughout Westerly and Charlestown.

Before the craft was put into service, firefighters received specialized training to integrate it into marine rescue operations. To further improve its capabilities, more rescue equipment was planned to be installed. The investment bolstered the department's capacity to safeguard locals and tourists on nearby waterways and enhanced operational readiness.
