LAST Training Prepares Personnel to Support Line-of-Duty Losses
Brooksville, FL - The Hernando County Fire Rescue sent Personnel & Compliance Manager Lauren Erhard and HR Generalist Keri to attend the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Local Assistance State Team (LAST) training at a regional training facility.
The program, led by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, prepares responders to assist departments, families, and communities in the aftermath of a line-of-duty death. Training focused on providing operational continuity, family support, memorial planning, behavioral health resources, and guidance through survivor benefits.
The LAST program, a partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice and Bureau of Justice Assistance, equips teams with the tools to deliver compassionate and coordinated support during some of the most difficult moments faced in the fire service.
