Wantagh, N.Y. — 10th July — Senior and junior members of the Department Wantagh Fire Department Marine Unit, located in Wantagh, New York, participated in a planned training session onboard Marine 31. Unit SOPs, man-overboard and person-in-the-water recovery tactics, line handling, and fire pump operations—including the use of the bow-mounted monitor and handline deployment—were all emphasized during the exercise.

In order to help younger firefighters develop critical maritime response abilities, senior members provide practical teaching. Crews are kept ready for beach emergencies, marine firefighting, and water rescues through regular training. The meeting illustrated the department's continued dedication to teamwork, operational preparedness, and continual emergency response skill improvement.
