Valley Stream, N.Y. — 9th July — Department Chaplain Father Dan O'Brien passed away, according to the Department Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department, located at 123 S. Central Ave., next to Sunrise Highway. The fire service community was informed of the news by the Chief's Office and the officers and members of Nassau Hook & Ladder Company No. 1.

As a dependable chaplain, Father O'Brien supported firemen and their families, provided spiritual direction, and took part in departmental celebrations, funeral services, and neighborhood gatherings. The department and its members benefited from his years of devoted service. The department sent its sympathies to Father O'Brien's friends, family, and all those impacted by his demise.
