On July 17, Mastic Fire Department members took part in the yearly TWA Flight 800 Memorial, which honored the 230 victims of the 1996 disaster.

The department joined other firemen, EMS professionals, law enforcement officers, and members of the U.S. Coast Guard in honoring those who lost their lives by providing a ceremonial flag arch for the commemoration event. The firefighters and other first responders who responded to the call following the incident thirty years ago were also honored at the occasion.

Department representatives reiterated their dedication to honoring the victims and everyone impacted by the catastrophe.
