Mastic Fire Department Stands By for Helicopter Landing

On July 10, at around 7:40 p.m., the Mastic Fire Department responded to a helicopter landing assignment.


Firefighters from Engine 5-12-1 and other department staff formed a standby assignment under the direction of Assistant Chief Rudy Sunderman and Captain Tarren Kearns to provide fire protection throughout the helicopter's takeoff and landing. In case emergency aid was required, crews stayed on the spot.


All units were back in service within 30 minutes after the surgery was finished without any problems.
