Massapequa, N.Y. — July 4 — In honor of Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Massapequa Fire Department, located at 1 Brooklyn Ave., joined towns around the country. The celebration honored the country's past while showcasing the unwavering commitment of volunteer firemen, emergency medical personnel, law enforcement officers, and military people who stayed prepared to assist during the holiday.

Residents of Massapequa and Massapequa Park trusted the department, and department officials acknowledged the assistance of firefighters' families.
