Lakeview Members Completed Life-Saving Narcan Training

West Hempstead, N.Y. — July 9 — In collaboration with Councilwoman Laura Ryder, the Lakeview Fire Department, located at 891 Woodfield Road, conducted a Narcan training program that taught firemen and community members how to handle opioid overdoses. Participants gained knowledge about how to identify overdose symptoms, give naloxone, and contact emergency medical services.


Early intervention, scene safety, and the significance of prompt medical attention were all stressed during the workshop. Such community training initiatives boost emergency preparedness and raise public awareness. The event demonstrated the department's ongoing dedication to enhancing community safety through public education, firefighter training, and collaboration with local partners.
