Island Park Honored Honorary Chief's 60 Years of Service

Island Park, N.Y. — July 11 — During a special visit to his house, the Department Island Park Volunteer Fire Department, located at 440 Long Beach Road, honored Honorary Chief Al "Uncle Al" Bolton for 60 years of devoted volunteer service. He was unable to attend prior honor ceremonies due to health issues, so chief officers and department members gave him official citations and plaques. In his honor, Fire Headquarters also hoisted a special 60-year service flag.


Bolton's six decades of service demonstrated his enduring dedication to leadership, community service, and the department. The honor honored a profession that continues to motivate present members and upcoming volunteer firefighter generations.
