Freeport Fire Department Honored Keith Holdener's Legacy

Freeport, N.Y. — July 13 — In remembrance of firefighter Keith "Muggsy" Holdener's service and commitment to the department and the Freeport community, the Freeport Fire Department, located at 15 Broadway, celebrated the anniversary of his passing. On July 13, 1986, Holdener was slain while returning home from a uniform parade.


Members of the department recalled his dedication to the volunteer fire service and the enduring influence he had on friends, family, and other firefighters. In addition to honoring the sacrifices made by firefighters and their families, the event reaffirmed the department's committment to honoring those whose passion and service continue to motivate future generations.
