In remembrance of his decades of devotion to the department and the fire service, the East Northport Fire Department announced the death of Life Member and former Commissioner James J. McCormick Jr.
McCormick began working for the department on December 2, 1968. He was a commissioner of the East Northport Fire District from 1983 to 1997 and a department trustee from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, he was a leader in the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York and the Suffolk County Fire District Officers Association.
