Atlantic Beach, N.Y. — July 4 — While acknowledging the United States' 250th anniversary, Department Atlantic Beach Rescue, located at 1 Rescue Rd., Atlantic Beach, NY 11509-1247, was prepared to respond during the Independence Day vacation. The event commemorated 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was ratified in 1776. The department urged locals and guests to practice boating, beach safety, and fireworks as festivities spread around the area in order to minimize avoidable incidents.

During one of the busiest holiday weekends, crews supported public safety while remaining ready for emergency calls. The celebration honored the country's past as well as emergency personnel' ongoing dedication to helping their communities.
