This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

At around 3:05 p.m. on June 26, the Center Moriches Fire Department responded to a pedestrian who had been hit by a car on Main Street, just west of the firehouse.

After a prompt evaluation, emergency medical staff concluded that the patient needed to be sent to a trauma center. To assist with the medical evacuation, firefighters set up a landing zone at the ball field off Beachfern Road and called in a Suffolk County Police aircraft.

While the Suffolk County Police Department looked into the event, Main Street was closed for a number of hours.
