Little Compton, R.I. — July 19 — After completing several weeks of training, the Little Compton Fire Department's operational readiness in a variety of emergency response disciplines was increased. To enhance their abilities in a variety of settings, firefighters did ATV training at the Simmons Mill Pond Management Area, rehearsed pumping and water supply operations, and finished marine response drills. The department, which is based at 60 Simmons Rd., offers mutual aid, emergency medical response, fire suppression, and rescue to nearby villages.

Crews can stay proficient with equipment, communications, and coordinated incident operations with regular hands-on training. The department's dedication to readiness and making sure firemen stayed ready for situations around the community was reaffirmed during the July 19 training event.
