Bristol Fire Department Marked America's 250th Birthday

Bristol, R.I. — July 4 — During the town's Independence Day celebrations, the Bristol Fire Department joined locals and guests in commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary. The oldest continuous Fourth of July celebration in the country took place in Bristol, which drew sizable crowds for parades, concerts, and neighborhood events. Throughout the holiday, law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical services, and mutual aid partners stayed ready to support public safety.


The public was commended by department officials for participating in responsible celebrations and contributing to the safety of the activities. Another successful Independence Day celebration that honored both the history of the country and Bristol's long-standing Fourth of July custom was made possible by the collaboration between emergency personnel and the community.
