Barnet, Vt. — June 21 — Johan F. Naess, a longstanding volunteer who died at the age of 88, was honored by Barnet Fire and Rescue. Naess was an Army National Guard veteran, a science instructor, a coach, and a volunteer firefighter. Throughout his life, he continued to be involved in outdoor organizations and local children programs.
In lieu of flowers, his obituary asked for memorial donations to Barnet Fire and Rescue, reflecting his lifelong dedication to public service. To honor his years of service and the beneficial influence he had on the department and the Barnet community, department personnel, family, friends, and other volunteers came together.
