Historic Ford Engine Highlighted Pleasant Valley Fire History

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Pittsburgh, PA. — June 26 — A rare photo of a former Ford C-Model fire engine manufactured by Hamerly was supplied by the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Company Station 217, which is situated at 152 Kittanning Pike. The outdated equipment served O'Hara Township in the past and symbolized the reliable tools firemen used prior to the current fleet. In addition to fostering ties between current members and their predecessors, historic fire engines continue to uphold the customs and legacy of volunteer fire departments.

The image commemorated the generations of firemen who proudly and devotedly operated the equipment and acknowledged the department's long history of neighborhood protection.
