Pittsburgh, PA. — July 4 — The Department Shaler Villa Volunteer Fire Company, located at 960 Saxonburg Blvd., acknowledged Independence Day and urged locals to enjoy it safely. Throughout the day, firemen were prepared to respond to emergencies as communities gathered for parades, picnics, and fireworks.

Fire safety is a crucial aspect of the Fourth of July since, according to the National Fire Protection Association, pyrotechnics are a major contributor to fires and related casualties. Residents were urged by department representatives to abide by local laws, use caution when near fireworks, and pay attention to their surroundings. The event also honored the commitment of emergency personnel to their communities.
