Station 17 Assists During Big Boy Locomotive Visit

On July 11, members of the East Taylor Township Volunteer Fire Company continued to participate in local activities and regional fire service projects.


Along the Ghost Town Trail, firefighters took part in the 2026 Chernisky Classic, a race that earns points for the 2026 convention and funds the Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association Training Site.


Station 17 helped the Conemaugh Independence Fire Company after the incident when Union Pacific's iconic Big Boy locomotive arrived in East Conemaugh. According to department representatives, the day demonstrated their ongoing dedication to supporting the community through regional collaborations and public activities.
