On July 11, the crew of Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014 joined members of Altoona Fire Fighters IAFF Local 299 to fly the American flag above the historic steam locomotive.

During the visit, AMED EMS staff and Ladders 351 and 352 raised the flag using their aerial equipment. Ed Dickens, Executive Vice President of Mechanical Operations at Union Pacific, also took aerial photos of the event.

Local 299 praised the Big Boy crew for coming to Altoona and showcasing the city's rich railroad history by giving them challenge coins.
