Sturgeon Fire Department Marked Independence Day

Sturgeon, PA. — July 4 — On Independence Day, the Sturgeon Volunteer Fire Department joined towns throughout in commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary. The department, which is located at 526 Main St., urged locals to appreciate the heritage of the country and those who still serve their communities while celebrating in a responsible manner.


During one of the busiest holidays for emergency responders, firefighters advised the public to exercise caution when using fireworks, grills, and outdoor gatherings. In addition to offering emergency services, the department continued to promote public safety and fire prevention, assisting locals in enjoying a safe Fourth of July while upholding the long-standing customs of community protection and volunteer work.
