Tarentum, PA. — June 21 — Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Company recognized the legacy of its former Truck 1, a 1965 Mack equipped with an 85-foot Maxim mid-mount aerial. The apparatus served the department for many years, supporting structure fires, rescue operations and mutual aid responses throughout Tarentum and neighboring communities.

Based at 401 E. Eighth Ave., Highland Hose remains one of the volunteer companies serving the borough through emergency response, training and public safety programs. The department's continued preservation of historic apparatus recognizes the generations of firefighters whose dedication and service helped shape the community's fire protection and strengthened the traditions of the volunteer fire service.
