Chief Corey Rooker Was Honored for Decades of Service

Port Byron, N.Y. — July 6 — Chief Corey Rooker was honored by the Port Byron Fire Department, also referred to as Protective Hose Company No. 1, following his receipt of the 2026 Firefighters Association of the State of New York Fire Service Community Achievement Award. To honor his years of service and leadership, FASNY representatives, local fire chiefs, Cayuga County authorities, and department members gathered for the presentation.


Rooker received recognition for his enduring dedication to community involvement, emergency response, and firefighter safety. The department, which was based at 52 Utica Street, continues to offer public safety services, mutual aid, and fire protection throughout the Port Byron region.
