Through a grant from the Bucks County Redevelopment Authority, the Bristol Borough Firefighters Association improved its water supply capabilities by equipping its fire gear with a lightweight 5-inch supply hose.
The idea improves efficiency and uniformity during fireground operations by standardizing the hose used by the department's fleet. These days, engine businesses have 1,500 feet of supply hose, whereas quint firms only have 800 feet. During emergencies, firefighters can immediately create water supply and deploy hoses thanks to color-coded identification parts.
