Dayton and Rural Valley Crews Conduct Joint Rescue Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On June 24, firefighters from the Dayton District Volunteer Fire Company and Rural Valley Hose Co. No. 1 used the new Amkus battery-powered rescue equipment from the Dayton department to complete combined extrication training.

The equipment, which replaced outdated hydraulic extrication tools and enhanced firefighters' capacity to respond to contemporary automobile wrecks, was recently acquired through a grant. In order to improve cooperation during mutual help situations, crews carefully examined each other's equipment.

The department expressed gratitude to Rural Valley firemen for taking part in the practical exercise and to Barker Bus of Dayton for supplying a decommissioned bus for realistic training.
