On July 7, Group C of the Binghamton Fire Department managed a hectic day of emergency calls, which included rescuing a cat stuck in a storm drain and welcome probationary firefighters on their first call.
When Quint 3 arrived for the animal rescue, the cat was securely and unharmedly removed from the storm drain by firefighters. In addition to being the first emergency response experience for the department's newest probationary firemen, the incident occurred during an active shift.
