Northfield, N.J. — June 15 — In preparation for putting the new Holmatro rescue tools into frontline duty, volunteers and professional personnel of the City of Northfield Volunteer Fire Company #1 finished the first of two training sessions. Members used donated cars from Matt Portnoy & Sons Auto Recycling to practice vehicle extrication techniques. The practical instruction concentrated on safe tool use, coordination, and rescue techniques frequently employed in auto accidents.
Prior to the device being operational, a second session is scheduled. Continuous training ensures that firemen are knowledgeable about current technologies and equipped to conduct efficient rescue operations in the event of an emergency throughout the Northfield community.
