Colonie, N.Y. — July 4 — In honor of the 250th anniversary of the country's founding, the Fuller Road Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1342 Central Avenue, encouraged locals to celebrate Independence Day in a safe manner. The agency reminded the community to enjoy holiday activities responsibly while honoring the dedication and sacrifice of those who have contributed to defending the nation's liberties.
Residents were advised by firefighters to exercise caution when using pyrotechnics, abide by local laws, and keep an eye out for neighboring residences and dry conditions. Due to fireworks-related situations, fire services typically have one of their busiest periods during the Fourth of July. Throughout the holiday weekend, the messaging emphasized community safety, responsible festivities, and fire prevention.
