Delmar, N.Y. — July 4 — By commemorating the 250th anniversary of the country's founding and promoting safe holiday celebrations, the Delmar Fire Department, located at 145 Adams Street, observed Independence Day. The department reminded citizens to spend the holiday responsibly with loved ones while paying tribute to those who have served the nation.

To lower the risk of fires and injury, firefighters advised people to use fireworks carefully and to abide by local safety regulations. For fire departments, the Fourth of July is typically one of their busiest periods. Throughout the holiday weekend, the message reaffirmed the significance of preventing fires, celebrating responsibly, and safeguarding the neighborhood.
