Coeymans, N.Y. — July 4 —? In honor of the 250th anniversary of the country's founding, the Department Coeymans Fire Company #1, located at 67 Church St., encouraged locals to celebrate Independence Day in a safe manner. The agency reminded the community to celebrate the holiday responsibly while honoring the sacrifice and devotion of those who have contributed to defending the nation's liberties.

When using pyrotechnics, firefighters advised citizens to use caution and to keep an eye on their neighbors and nearby property. Due to events involving fireworks, Independence Day is typically one of the busiest times for fire services. Throughout the holiday weekend, the message reaffirmed the significance of community safety, responsible festivities, and fire prevention.
