Port Republic, N.J. — July 4 — In honor of the country's 250th anniversary and to promote safe holiday festivities, the Department Port Republic Volunteer Fire Company, located at 116 Blakes Lane, observed Independence Day. The government urged citizens to reflect on the liberties honored nationwide while spending time with loved ones.

Additionally, firefighters advised the public to use pyrotechnics sensibly and to keep an eye out for nearby residences and neighbors. Due to the increased fire risks involved with pyrotechnics, the Fourth of July is typically one of the busiest times for fire departments. Throughout the holiday weekend, the message reaffirmed the significance of community safety, fire safety, and responsible festivities.
