Pooler, GA - The Pooler Fire-Rescue conducted a final inspection of its new Rescue 601 at Pierce Manufacturing, marking a significant upgrade to the department’s special services capabilities.

The new apparatus will replace the current Rescue 601, with the existing unit transitioning into a reserve role. Equipment from the department’s GSAR unit will be reassigned to improve deployment efficiency and enhance maneuverability for regional and statewide responses, while also aligning the fleet under a single manufacturer.

Designed to meet increasing call demands, the new Rescue 601 will be equipped for a wide range of technical rescue operations, including heavy vehicle stabilization, industrial entrapments, water and dive rescue, and structural collapse scenarios. This addition strengthens the department’s ability to respond effectively to complex emergencies.
