Old Lyme, Conn. — July 4 — In honor of Independence Day, the Old Lyme Fire Department acknowledged the history of the country and urged citizens to celebrate sensibly. While local celebrations took place, the department reminded the community that volunteer firemen remained on duty throughout the holiday, prepared to respond to emergencies.


As a fully volunteer organization serving Old Lyme, the department continued to provide fire, rescue, and emergency services from its headquarters at 69 Lyme Street. Additionally, officials acknowledged the commitment of volunteers and their families, who helped provide dependable emergency service on holidays, during community events, and all year round.
