Old Lyme, CT — June 21 — On Father's Day, the Old Lyme Fire Department honored fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures for their commitment to their families and the community. Additionally, the department recognized the families who helped firefighters with training, emergency calls, and time away from home. Strong family support is still crucial for effective volunteer work, according to officials.


The department, which is based at 69 Lyme Street, carried on the long-standing practice of offering Old Lyme volunteer fire, rescue, and emergency response services. The Father's Day speech acknowledged the harmony that many members maintained between helping their families and giving back to the community.
