Trumbull, CT - The Nichols Fire Department conducted training with the Aqua Eye Pro handheld underwater sonar scanning device, enhancing capabilities in water rescue operations. The training provided members with hands-on experience using the advanced technology designed to improve the speed and accuracy of locating submerged victims.

The Aqua Eye Pro is capable of scanning approximately one acre of water in under a minute, functioning similarly to an underwater thermal imaging camera by allowing rescuers to detect objects not visible to the naked eye.

The department expressed appreciation to district and department leadership for their continued investment in innovative equipment that strengthens operational effectiveness and improves firefighter safety.
