Binghamton, NY - The Binghamton Fire Department responded to Hawley Street after Broome Security reported a mother duck lingering near a storm drain. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that all 11 of her ducklings had fallen into the drain and were unable to escape.
Squad 21 arrived on scene and carefully retrieved each of the ducklings from the storm drain. Once all were safely removed, the ducklings were reunited with their mother and continued on their way without harm.
The incident highlighted the department’s commitment to serving all members of the community, including its wildlife.
