Essex, CT. — June 21 — In celebration of their commitment to their families and communities, Essex Fire Engine Co. #1 honored fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures on Father's Day. Additionally, the department recognized volunteers, firefighters, and emergency responders who successfully juggled family obligations and public duty throughout the year. Every year on the third Sunday in June, Father's Day is celebrated to honor the vital role fathers play in bolstering local communities and families.
