This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Chepachet, R.I. — July 4 — In honor of Independence Day, the Chepachet Fire Department sent out holiday greetings and urged locals to celebrate sensibly. Fire officials advised the public to keep kids away from sources of ignition, attend professional fireworks shows whenever feasible, and exercise caution when using authorized explosives. Additionally, the department advised families to properly dispose of old fireworks and keep water or a fire extinguisher close at hand.

Since fireworks-related events make Independence Day one of the busiest holidays for fire departments, public safety reminders are a crucial component of the department's outreach. While assisting the community's safe Fourth of July celebration, firefighters stayed prepared to respond.
