Jewett City, Conn. — June 23 — The Griswold Volunteer Fire Department and the Jewett City Fire Department held a pump operating training session on Tuesday night. Operating fire apparatus pumps, setting up reliable water sources, and maintaining appropriate water pressure throughout fireground operations were the key topics of the training. To increase productivity in emergency situations, members rehearsed setting up equipment and coordinating water deliveries.

By enhancing communication and familiarity with common operating procedures, the training further reinforced the adjacent departments' mutual aid collaboration. Frequent pump operation drills provided ongoing preparedness for emergency responses throughout the communities both departments covered, ensured equipment was used efficiently, and assisted firemen in maintaining critical skills.
