On July 3, the Kent Volunteer Fire Department continued to handle emergency calls while workers examined more dry hydrants in the neighborhood to help guarantee a steady supply of water for rural firefighting operations.
The department's continuous efforts to provide water availability in places lacking municipal hydrants and maintain emergency preparation include the inspections.
