Bethel Fire & EMS Hosts First Pop-Up Splash Park

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On July 3, Bethel Fire & EMS held its inaugural Pop-Up Splash Park, which encouraged community involvement while providing people with an opportunity to cool off during the summer heat.

For the enjoyment of families, firefighters set up sprinklers, bucket brigade games, hose target activities, and a toddler splash area. Due to the continued drought, the agency also stressed water conservation by limiting water consumption and utilizing garden hoses that were rescued.

In collaboration with the Town of Bethel, including the Water Department and Bethel Parks and Recreation, the event was planned. If staffing and weather permit, it might be held again in the summer.
