Carolina, R.I. — June 25 — In addition to recognizing Chief Scott W. Barber's selection as president of the Rhode Island Southern League of Firefighters, the Richmond-Carolina Fire District reappointed him to a second term as district chief. As a nearly thirty-year veteran of the fire service, Barber has overseen department operations and served as a mentor to firemen around Rhode Island.

Many of the people he trained are still employed by the state's fire and law enforcement departments. According to fire district officials, his leadership and knowledge will continue to improve training, emergency response, and day-to-day operations. The district's faith in his abilities to lead the department and benefit the community was demonstrated by his reappointment.
