Westerly, R.I. — June 9 — In order to get firefighters ready for the hectic summer months, the Watch Hill Fire Department finished its yearly EMS in-service training with the Westerly Ambulance Corps. Under the direction of Captain Kim DePerry, the program covered medical response techniques, patient care protocols, and emergency equipment usage.

Enhancing communication between firemen and ambulance staff during medical events near the community's rivers and shoreline was the main goal of the training. Annual refresher training promotes consistent patient care during emergencies and aids responders in maintaining critical EMS abilities. The Watch Hill Fire Department and the Westerly Ambulance Corps' ongoing collaboration improved the coastal community's capacity to respond to emergencies.
